I'd do UDPs, dyno tune, & 4:10 gears. Don't fear the gear

Gears. 4.10s if you have an automatic or 3.73s for a five speed.

get some 3.90's or 4.1's and thatll pep that summabitch right up.

4.10 for auto
3.73 for manual
gears dont add horsepower... the basically make you accelerate faster. so basically 4.10s accelerate faster than 3.73. its all preference, but the fact that autos dont shift make 4.10s more preferred than 3.73s.

Torque Multiplication my friend.....
and yes, most definately 4.10's minimum for a auto. although due to the increased and constant rpm's the transmission will be under, an external cooler is a must to ensure longetivity of the tranny.
i have a manual so no shift pressure crapola for me. have fun with the diablo, have you adjusted timing or fuel yet? i maxxed out the timing on mine and that gives you a noticeable change up top, however i did it in weekly increments and in winter i put it back down to stock because of the crap winter blends in gasoline.

Messing with the shift pressures is fine. It's almost just like putting a shift kit in it. A firmer shift = a faster shift which creates less friction. Friction = heat which = po'd transmission. I have all my points on maximum firmness.

4.10 rear-gears are a bit much for an auto, imho. I'd rather not have a car that's geared like a tractor.

So it wont mess up my transmission shifting so hard? I always thought it would. My bf has replaced his trans 5 times in his yukon. He has all kinds of performance stuff done to it. We were thinking it was because his 2nd shifted so freaking hard that it messed his trans up everytime And he doesnt have a shift kit its just how he had it programmed

What you need to know is that yes turning up your line press. will help with less slip in the clutch packs and lower trans. temps. BUT if you increase the line press. too much. you can start the break hard parts like the output shafts or sunshell and what not. this is the most common trans failure in performance trans setups. a good rule of thumb is that it should only bark the tires at wide open throttle. ONLY bark the tires NOT spin the tires. no matter how much horsepower you have. so you need less line press. with more hp.

Tell him to put in a built 4l65 or something other than that crap 4l60. That should solve it.
