ok so, I decided to change my mind again, im not going with the black Ford GT wheels...I decided to stick with the gun-metal deep dish bullitts...
now, the question becomes, and I am sure that I am going to take a lot of heat for even thinking about it, so bring it on, but I was seriously considering a set of 20 x 10" deep dish bullitts for the rears because I can get two of them for very cheap (with 285/30's) and keeping my 18 x 9" deep dish bullitts for the front (with 255/45's)...What do you think? or ?

I'd go for it if you like it. I'd have to see a picture but other 20's don't look to bad on the new Mustangs.

+1 for me too. taller rims in the rear is and old skool rodder look. & sense your car is retro styled anyway it falls right into place

I think it'll work chris, just make sure what your tire height difference will be, dunno what havoc that might reek on your driving and turning.

I know, I'm about to get flamed(from either front), I'm about to attempt to see both sides here.
I wouldn't do it because of weight. Do the words unsprung weight mean anything?
I would do it, because I saw a bullitt a few years back that had 20 x 10 Bullitts on it and it looked dam good. On the S197's, they'd look even better :yup:

overall tire height needs to be the same or your ABS system will go crazy

with a 285/30/20 in the rear and a 255/45/18 in the front, the overall diameter will be within 3 tenths of an inch, with the fronts being just a tad bigger...so it won't make any difference as far as the abs and speedo and all of that is concerned because the difference in diameter isn't very large, my concern is from an appearance thing, will the 20 diameter will with small side walls look funny compared to the 18 diameter in front with much bigger sidewalls...
stock dia. = ((235*.55)/25.4)*2+17 = 27.1in
18x9 = ((255*.45)/25.4)*2 + 18 = 27in
20x10 = ((285*.30)/25.4)*2 + 20 = 26.7in
and craig, im looking more for an auto-x car so the weight and cornering stuff won't make for a huge difference as I will spend more time burning up the front tires rather than the rears loading the front tires heavily under breaking and cornering...
oh, and it's a whipple I am getting, not a KB...(just for the record lol) although I don't know how happy I am going to be about running SM2 (I believe) in auto-x...

I thought that's what it was, but I said KB just to play it safe.
But still, unsprung weight plays a big issue. It's harder to brake....nevermind, I don't have to explain it to you. I know you understand all that. Just something to keep in mind is what I'm trying to say.

Psh, if he gets serious with autox he won't want to replace 20 inch tires every weekend.
Hence the reason I'm looking for some other wheels for it.

true, which is why i am going to find some cheap 17x9's somewhere and put some falken azenis' on them strictly for autox...that is until i upgrade the brakes all around and require some cheap 18x9's for fitment

It's official, I am going with the 20x10's deep dish bullitts for the rear...i bought them earlier today. These are the wheels:
AmericanMuscle.com - Customer Images - View
I have them in an 18x9 deep dish already that I am going to move up front...I was able to get the two 20x10's on ebay for $117 + $40 for shipping, I couldn't pass that up when they are $200 per + tax full price...
