Car Won't Start

|
Now I have a problem with my fox 4cyl, it was running fine and all of the sudden the car shut-off and it wont start again, I checked the fuel pump and i can still hear it, the car cranks but it wont start ............can somebody help me out thanks.

the pump is running but do you have fuel press. if you have fuel next check to see if you have spark. find with one you don't have than we can help a lot more

i do have spark, but yesterday afternoon i turned the key ign., and now i can barely hear the pump, this time I really need to get closed to the gas tank to hear it.

you need to check fuel press. at the inspection port on the fuel rail

well you can use a screw driver to push the fitting in on the fuel rail to see if fuel comes out ( its just like the air fitting on your tire) if fuel comes out than get a fuel pres gauge to check press needs to be at least 40psi. if no fuel comes out than start by checking the fuel filter for a clog. if none found than you need a fuel pump

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP........ I finally found out what was wrong with my car, my timing chain belt was broken, what i want to know is do you guys think i might have bent a valve.?

I really doubt you damaged the motor, the timing belt isn't hard to replace at all on the 2.3s and shouldn't cost too much

I think if I were strapped for cash I'd put the belt on and then check my dynamic compression, if they all look good and high then run it as is.
if longevity is more of a concern i'd pull the head and take it too a good machinist.

According to "AUTODATA" The 2.3 ford engine is a "freewheeling" engine so you shouldn't have to worry about valve damage. Hope this helps.
