the new design looks the same because it is the same. all the differances are internal. what makes the ak so tough is that all the internal parts were made sloppy loose. with ment that even with the gun full of dirt the gun won't jam. but that made the gun not accurate over 200m. the new gun is a lot tighter so it is a lot more accurate. that is the differance:ar15:

kinda the class 3 license only refers to the license dealers have to get what i citizen has to have is a NFA Tax stamp and pay 200 bucks for said stamp. that is if you can find one for under 6 grand stateside(good luck)
the tax stamp thing also applies for short barreled rifles/shotguns, suppressors(silencers) and full auto weapons.
only problem is the full autos were banned in 1986 from being imported for general sale thats why the prices are so high
and personally if i'm gonna drop that kinda cash i might as well spend a little more on a M4 with suppressor

you don't have to be a millionaire if you want a few AK's :P They are like a dime a dozen on this planet.

Full auto is worthless, anyway. You're much better off trying to aim.

yup.. the reason i brought it up was the seens with all the aks and the tanks. it was cheaper for them to buy real guns off the black market than fake ones so after the stoot they sold them back to another gun runner. that was on the extras DVD

One of my favorite movies of all time....
"In a few minutes, there is going to be a knock on that door, and I'm going to get up, and walk out of here, no questions asked."
Greatest part.
