Hey everyone,
I have been hanging out here for a little over a month now, so I thought I would introduce myself. I am Larry Fear from Central Arkansas. I am a first time Ford buyer, so I wil be asking a few questions. I normally hang out at the Classical Pontiac web site, but since I am trying to figure out some nice upgrades for the Stang, I now spend more time here. I haven't got started upgrading yet, I just finished with the upgrades to my 07 Avalanche. I plan on dressing up under the hood, I have a good start because I have the factory intake cover, but I need more. Naturally an axle back will be the first thing that will be added.
I just completed putting some pictures up in my garage so enjoy.

welcome, there are thousands of ways to upgrade your car, just a matter of figuring out what it is that you want and looking around to make sure you have seen most of what there is to get.

The upgrades you want to do will depend a lot on your budget and exactly what you want to do the car and whether or not you want to stay within the factory warranty limits...What exactly are you looking to get out of the car?
Unfortunately, S197's are a pain to do any real "power-freeing" modifications too (such as intake, pullies, headers, and all that basic stuff) because they have incredibly sensitive engine control systems and they need to be tuned for basically every part you put on or you could run into some very bad problems...so I would suggest starting out with a simple cat/axle-back exhaust, and then getting several other power improvement parts at once so that you can get the most out of your tune and not have to get the car tuned every time you had the littlest thing...
I personally am in the process of doing the entire suspension for my car first, but that's because I spend a lot of time auto-x-ing the vehicle so handling is a lot more important to me than power...but once the suspension will be as i want it, i am going to do COMPLETE exhuast and intake...then eventually move on to F/I when I have every thing where I want it...

I live in Cabot. After 18 years in Miami, I decided to slow down a bit. My wife and I moved here a little over a year ago. I think this move was about the best move I ever made. Plus it was a promotion for me to come here. Yes you heard me right, they actually paid me more money to move to AR. However, it did cost me about $10K to have all of my crap move.
Yikes, I didn't realize that I would have to have this thing retuned for such minor upgrades. About the only performance items that I have planned for now are axle-back and intake. Right now I am leaning towards the Pypes system since the mufflers and all are polished for a decent price. I also plan on adding a short-throw shifter, once I find a smooth feeling shifter. I looked at a Shelby GT with the Hurst short-throw, but it felt catchy to me moving to 3rd and 5th. then I do plan on putting some lower control arms on the rear so if I feel like doing a burnout I won't shake all my fillings out. Plus a strut-tower brace. The rest is just cosmetics, you know, like billet dress-up for under the hood and such.

Hi I'm Lisa
I have a 2006 Black Mustang GT that looks just like yours. I put chrome 20's on it and it made all the difference. I'm new here but I'll work on getting a picture up loaded.

Hey Lisa,
Welcome to ME! I spent 3 years just north of Sacramento back in the 80's, really enjoyed the area.
I bet the chrome 20's look great. Looking forward to photos.
