I recenlty change my radio ( 2000 gt mach 460 audio ) I got the harness for it. After evrything was done my dash lights don't work Headlights and side markers work fine. I took the orange wire from the harness and put power to it and the dash lights light up permanently, then don't work with the knob. I can figure out what I am missing. There is no dimmer wire on my radio. Can any one help with this.
If all you did was get a plug and play harness then you have another different problem not associated with the stereo. If you did however cut wires and tap into the factory harness that way then you could have messed something up.

Don't use the orange wires. Most installers don't use the dimmer wire on any car install since they blow fuses anyway. I would first check to see if a fuse was blown by either pulling it out, better yet check it with a test probe or see if any other parts of the car use that same fuse and check to see if they are working.
Without looking at it or knowing what you did/hooked up it's the best I can say. I never looked at 99+ wiring and install but if the problem persists I could try and look through the install and see where you might have gone wrong.
Then again perhaps some one else on here has ran into the problem/done this install and will know the answer right away.

i used a harness. Didn't cut any factory wires. And didn't use the orange wires. I did many installs on mustangs 1987-1993. But I did everything by the book. I did check the fuse under the dash and under the hood. Everything checked out. I appreciate the help guys. The dash do work.
