syn oils

my 1998 v6 has 139000 mi. would syn oils be helpful i am using 10w 30 now i live in deep south temps rarely below 30 .thanks

might wanna make an intro first instead of asking a ? on your first post. just how the regulars like it, thats all.

it all depends~ you might be more suited for a high mileage oil to help with some of the wear and tear of the engine. Dont expect synth oil to perform miracles it mainly will help keep wear and tear and oil break down low, not remove what has already taken place.

I'd seafoam the motor then check into some oil like spector suggested or do a little reading here Car Bibles : The Engine Oil Bible

I have 141,000 miles on my 98, i use Motorcraft 5w30 all the time. (I dont drive it in the winter)

yea if you take care of it any oil will be ok, its all about upkeep

Even on a newer engine though you will notice a slight improvement over regular dino oil. I would always recommend going to synthetic, it's just much better engineered, but like said above, changing types of oil wont really affect what has already happened as far as wear and tear.
