alright! now that I just helped answer a question about correct valvetrain geometry lets see what happens when everything doesn't jive just right...
from what I understand my problem appears to be the length of the rocker stud, as I might not have enough threads under the poly lock.
this happened at 6,500 RPM... imagine the look upon my face when I heard it go.
luckly the valves seem to be just fine, haven't had time to do a leakdown yet.

Damn man I don't know what to tell you, but that does suck. Hopefully it didn't cause to much damage.

Did it tear up the rocker, too?

was this rocker hitting the valve cover at all? any chance that particular valve may have been hitting a piston? its rare RARE for ARP studs to snap.. (assuming that's what you used..)

engine builder says that the studs are too short... and i used 3/8's studs, which do break often.
learning things the hard way.

I learn something new every day... I've never really heard of these breaking.. I know of many around here who use those -- but engine builder (would that be DSS? I thought you put it together yourself) would know more than I would
Note to self: when upgrading to aluminum heads and downing to 1.6 RRs, upgrade...
