that older 351's are much stronger and tend to require less machine work to get them "right" due to that fact.
E-150 late model van blocks are cast the same way as our shitty 5.0 factory blocks and don't take much of a beating...
they will require a full on remanufacture due to core shift and all that dandy stuff.
so get an old block, save your money at the machinist, and spend it on some $400 dollar retrofit comp link-bar lifters.
