They probably were, but it sounds like now they won't be on a custom order basis...more of a hand build "mass produced" basis where they will appear on dealer lots or something.

haha i hope its not the 1.8L with cocaine in the door panels. that put an end to the delorean the first time. lol

It was the powerplant that made it weigh "so much." All the fenders/body panels were stainless steel....

they had a fiberglass "underbody", to which non-structural brushed stainless steel panels were affixed.

I was going by what I knew.
Although, I didn't that three of the cars were plated in 24 karat gold
And actually the car didn't weight that much. 2712 according to the wiki.. Pretty dam light for a gullwing car if you ask me. That's like 100 pounds more than a 3rd gen RX7.
