Yeah i actually bought a PC game instead of downloading it. I figure if its ratings are that good, (9.7 according to IGN). Plus the fact people arent expecting a workable crack for quite some time (you have to enter a key, then it logs onto the site to cross reference the key to even play the game, in lieu of keys that just are required for install and a cracked exe is an easy thing to come up with). plus i figure its 50$, which is worth it if the game sells great and we get more badass PC games that tax our systems and look way better than consoles.
speaking of which, graphics wise, Glorious! however; my 7800GToc is showing its age. i have settings on medium and its still choppy depending on the scenery (bigger rooms get worse). Im prolly gonna sell it to my buddy so he can build a HTPC out of it and my old setup (3800+, 1gb DDR, Lanparty board). Im looking into going with a 8600GTS, reviews are showing its enough to handle the game on max settings with great framerates. its like building a car, ive got all my support mods in place (4gb DDR2, amd 6000+, 680w PS), now its time to throw on the big turbo.
oh and the game. ive played about 20 minutes and its just creepy. its not scary like Doom3 kinda, but its still gets pretty weird at night. opening sequence is awesome.

It's not. It installs SecureRom, which is a rootkit, and has an install limit. It's about everything you can do wrong when making a video game. |

Wow that's pretty shitty. Half Life 2 is just like that, I reinstalled it on my machine after reformatting and it said "You have this installed on 2 different machines, you can only install it again on a few more"
I'm like wtf, it's my god damn game I'll install it and uninstall it all the fuck I want.

oh well, im sure by the time i ever have to reinstall it more than that there will be a crack or whatnot.
doesnt Daemon have a SecureRom fix? i could just make a DVD image, load it through dameon and install it that way, then upload the crack when it becomes available.

or for ilegitimate customers. why are they going to limit the amount of times you can install a single game? to make sure that everyone has their own disk and paid for it. they're not stupid, they know ppl are going to try to rip them off, so they're making sure you can only instal it a minimal amount of times. good for them, bad for cheap skates.

/\ True. There is always, ALWAYS, someone out there who develops a reliable crack for the game. Just another PITA for legitamate customers like previously stated.
I played the demo on 360 and damn, does this game look good. Fun as hell and freaky....

That just doesnt make any sense to me. The amount of horrible publicity that 2kgames received over SecureRom and the install limit of BioShock is not worth making a few 16 year old kids angry.
It's ridiculous. I pay 50 dollars for a game I should be able to install it where I want and as many times as I want. |

they need to stop theft without causing the consumer to not want to buy their product... hmmm we can stop people from sealing but we make people who pay NOT want to... thats just a stupid business idea to me... some of these company decision makers astound me at how stupid they can be. |

or the ease of running windows copies, being able to do all the updates and everything.
im gonna stop playing for a bit, i really need a new video card, i cant even shoot people cause im running at like 3-5fps. fucking booty.

I wont buy it definantly. Not that my computer could handle it more then likely (6800GT OC here, AGP at that, its a few years old) But an install limit, that is crap. I randomly wipe my computer for the hell of it when I think I am getting to much shit on it. And if I buy a game and it says I can only install it so many times, I would be pissed. I will not go out and spend another 50 damn bucks for another one cause they think it will stop piracy...kinda like gun control, take the guns from the honest people and the bad guys still get them. I need to quit being such an honest person.

I can think of a few better. maybe for a combat flight sim, I got the disk somewhere for it but I think I installed it one time. On the puter I would rather be playing GRAW, BF2, WoW, or AoE III...hell probably through in some Battlefront II or Medieval II in there.
I need to get back into play Fable though.

Multiplayer wise, I find few more fun. Especially when you are playing a LAN game with everyone in one room.

i bought metroid prime 3 on wii today. it hasn't received a score of anything less than 9.5/10 from any reviewer that i've seen

I was about to say that...I just haven't wanted to fork out the cash yet...too many other things, like games for the PS3 or Wii or a tv, or the rifles I bought, parts for the ranger, stuff for the baby, etc.
