Garage flooring?

What is the best kind of garage flooring to get or does is matter that much? I've been looking at the Rustoleum garage flooring at Home Depot. And do those spreadable flakes/chip serve any function other than for looks, cuz I don't like how they look and I don't want to put them on if they don't really do anything. What price range should I be looking at for a 2.5 car garage floor?

The flakes are there to help with traction. If you're not afraid of slipping, you don't have to put them down.

Did you say you have carpeting on your garage floor? Um. That's pretty funny. What tiles are you putting in your garage? That's also funny, but more in my head than anything.

I'm trying to wrap my head around why you have carpet in your garage.

hmmmm, maybe he had the carpet down to soak up any of the fluid leaks the eclipse had back before he sold it?

My dad has the floor with the flakes installed. It helps with traction somewhat but it is also very handy in stuff that leaks. If oil or anything else gets on it, it wipes right up, very user friendly.

My other question would be, how long does this stuff last before you have to recoat the floor? I live in jerzy where it can be 100 in the summer and below 0 in the winter- droughts and floods- all other of the plagues, so hopefully it stands up to the weather too.

we had brown carpet in the house that came with it. when we redid the house carpet (it was still decent, not flat, it just didnt match anymore) we had to put it somewhere, so we cut it up and stuck it in the garage.
i dunno, i didnt think it was that weird, there are a few others in our neighborhood with the same brown carpet in the garage . makes for working on cars very nice, only thing that sucks is when you drop something, you cant tell if the bolt or whatever hit the floor or if its lost inside the engine bay.

pretty much. actually the spot is from the first eclipse (my 97gst), from the oil return line from the turbo that goes into the oil pan fitting, a standard leak prone area, however the guy who bought it was fully aware of dsm's and their problems, so it wouldnt even be an issue if i had to lie and cover up a leak to sell the car, its the other issues that i covered up (pass window not going up, convertible top not working, etc). the last dsm (my 91 gsx) didnt get a chance to make its mark.
