battery light

sometimes when i start the car the battery light stay on for 15 to 20 seconds and then the battery light light turn off, sometimes do it when i was driving but for just few seconds, but tonight a drive the car a the battery light stay on all the night, what can cause that?? my car is acting like always , nothing strange, just the light( for know...?)
i have a new battery (7 months old), my car is a v6 2001, 42,000 miles on it

Go to an autozone or a mechanic who specializes in starters and alternators and have your alternator tested.

alternator check and is okay, the battery cables seem to be in good condition, drivebelt is ok too and the tension of the belt is good

Check the fuse box. Your electrical system may be faulty and draining the battery.

update, i drive the car today and the battery light only appear 2 times, for maybe 5 or 6 seconds an then dissapear, my battery has more cranking amps than the stock battery, dont think thats the problem..
