How about a Whipple 3.3L?
Whipple Industries
Whipple, according to 5.0 and FF, has put one of these bad boy W200ax blowers on a modified 03 cobra and ran mid to high 9's at around 137 mph.
Whipple Industries
Here is the info on the present setup for a Ford GT. *it says 3.4 but it's a typo*
And that should be a video of one on a lightning. I can't see this vid at work. So you guys let me know if I posted up some BS

for the love of all things holy.
i wonder what the pricetag will be? i think if you really like the pull of a twin screw i can see spending that much, but for that amount of money, id just as soon go turbo. however for some the ease of installing a bolt-on blower like that might be the kicker, all you need afterwards is a fuel system and depending on boost, a prayer your motor holds up.

Whipple W140ax FTW on a street car. If you can run 25+ psi than the bigger displacement blowers are pretty badass.
BTW I read somewhere that Whipple is developing a 2.9L blower to replace the W140ax, has anybody heard of that?

There's a video of a guy that's mounted one of those on an LS6 on LS1Tech.com. I'll have to see if I can find it later.

I can't see that happening because the 3.4 offering doesn't clear the hood now...a bigger blower would be worse. I think the 2.3L is going to stick around for a good bit longer as it is still pretty popular with the 4.6L guys.

A 2.9 would be smaller than a 3.4.
I think I read someone talking about this on Modularfords.

The problem with the 3.3 is you can't run street gas because you can't get the boost low enough...

You can, you have to buy the new 4.5" blower pulley and the new -2# lower pulley to get you down to about 18-19 psi...and that is borderline for running street gas. Good gas would be a huge requirement though. Oh yeah, and you will have to notch out your hood pretty good until the new raised cobra hood is release here in a couple weeks.
