Want to guess the problem?

Took my red GT to the track Tuesday night for the first time with the new engine. Made one "get acquainted" pass. Easy launch, 5500 rpm granny shifting, just motor. Hit 8.0 at 84.7 with a 1.7 short time.

Went for the second pass and after a very light burnout, the transmission (Tremec 3550) wouldn't go in any gear without grinding. So I brought it home on a rollback. The clutch cable wasn't broken. Engine is fine and the transmission shifts into any gear as long as the engine is off.

I'm going to tear into it tomorrow but I don't think it was a bad clutch. I have a Spec 3+ and a billet flywheel. This was the second pass on the set up.

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to what it might be?

my guess would be the clutch i know you said you didnt think so.That is the exact shit mine was doing on a clutch with 1000 miles on it.

You would be right! It seems that I managed to weld the Spec 3+ clutch and pressure plate together. Spec said it was not unheard of on a cool night. It was totally locked up.

Do you like the Centerforce? I had one when the car was pretty stock and it had an easy touch, as I recall.

With the nitrous, my car puts out a bit over 500 lbs/ft of torque. Which Centerforce would you recommend?

I love my centerforce.. I have plenty of high RPM launches on it and still shifts perfectly --

the dual friction i dont believe they make a dfx for your car.

Thanks. This clutch only had about a thousand miles on it. I dutifully broke it in for 500 miles before ever dumping it. It could be operator problems. Maybe suddenly I've forgotten how to do a burnout! Here's some pictures of the ugliness.
