My car: 2000 3.8 5-speed w/ K&N CAI, Scremin' Demon coil, MSD 8.5mm wires, NGK plugs, 2.25 inch true duals, IMCO mufflers, Pypes mini-cats (2 cats deleted), JET chip, MAC long tube ceramic-coated headers. What do you think I will run in the 1/4th?

My first question would be can you drive the car?
if you know how to drive it, i would say around 15.5 @ 90ish
and if you don't know how to drive it, more like 15.8-16.0 @ 86-88ish

you have an intake, exhaust, and a chip so if that chip has a decent tune and you know how to run through the gears quickly in that 5-speed i would say 15.0-15.4
thats what i ran with basically the same mods through an auto, my mods are intake, exhaust, pulley, and a custom tune and on stock rims i pulled a 15.0 @ 90.5
unfortunately, quite a few mail order tunes are a general mild tune for all mustangs, not specific to each mustang. for instance, my tune didnt work on 3-4 other v6's that went into the shop. they had detonation issues b/c he just tried to copy the files. so he had to take the file and slightly detune it for their cars.
so pending good to real good driving and ok conditions i give you 15.0-15.4

You should expect to run no better than 15.6. go for 3.73's and a posi unit and I am willing to bet you'l hit low 15''s...if you can drive

I don't see where 15.0 is pretty damn fast...but whatever lol.
With a good 60' I don't see 15.0 out of reach for his car.
I have about the same mods and have always ran low 15's, just can't ever get it to come off the line right.

no offense and dont take this personally, but can you drive? i am not implying youre a bad driver, but i am saying that just because you run a certain time doesnt mean that it is a typical time...
I run 14.0-14.1's in my 05 GT all day long, but that doesnt mean that that is particularly fast...Good drivers in S187's run 13.8-14.2, while GREAT drivers run 13.4-13.8...I don't proclaim to be a great drag racer as it's not something I particularly like (I prefer twisties), but I can hold my own...but I don't proclaim to say that because I run a 14.0, that it's hard to believe someone else will run a 13.7 or whatever with the same car...
The same goes for you; a 15.66 is a good time with your setup, but it's not crazy or out of this world for someone to run a 15.2 or similar with the same car...there is always goin | | |
