so i've had a cricket under my car for the past couple days. i take it to a shop to swap belts to see if thats the problem and upon further inspection i find i have a bad cam shaft synchro thats causing the squeaks. 400 bucks to get it fixed

this sucks b/c in two years i'm gonna yank all that shit out anyway and replace it with all new stuff

Well buy something that will support power in the future. If you have any extra money go ahead and invest it in future mods that will help you.

Not worth the money to me...but yeh. I see where you're coming from. Look at it as a way to get more money from your longblock after you buy the new one.

well thats a fully assembled motor, right? all i would have to do is take the pullies off and just bolt that motor right in.

it cost about the same to get a longblock as it would to get a shortblock and piece everything together. for like 1500 more, this is what you get
- RPM Ported cylinder heads with 130#+ seat springs and machinework
- Fast Ramp aggressive reground camshaft
- New timing chain/tensioner
- New Lifter set
- New Ford gaskets, assembled with head bolts
