Since getting the car back from having the new engine put it there is a problem with the brakes. It seems like they are not getting enough pressure built up while in areas like parking lots or when first starting the car up and backing up and driving. The brakes do not stop well at all. You can feel the pads hit the rotors when you press the brakes but the car doesn't stop well.

However when driving down the rode this seems to go away.

What would cause this? I took it to a mechanic and they could not single out the problem but hinted at the Brake Booster going bad. Has anyone had experience with something like this before?

Seriously? Is there any way to fix it? It's pretty bad when first starting up.

I found this and it looks like a good solution: Brake Boost

This is probably why the transmission seems to lag a bit when first accelerating from a stop since it requires vacuum as well.

Problem is buying all those parts form the Junkyard probably won't be cheap either... then you gotta cuss up a storm taking the whole brake system apart lol...

I got to look into if this would fix the Transmission problem as well.

My v6 had that problem too. I think it was the booster but like you said no one could diagnose it. I would just let the car run for about 30 seconds when I started it up if I wanted to avoid the problem all together or I'd just be ready for it the first 30 seconds of drving.

oh man. slow down.

whats your cam? cause i have run Large cams and no issue yet with no haveing enough vacum on the boost for decent stoping. also just buy a $40 Vacum canister. no need for those things you posted about.

also the Trans does not use anything from a Vacum source to run or funstion properly.

if the cam is decent a Stall and a Gear will wake it up Alot.

this is nothing new why are you guessing at a fix?

because its bad enough to where it needs to be fixed and I have never encountered it before. This is my first build period.

It's bad enough at idle where I would like to fix it. I'll look into the Vacuum Canister. I guess the Transmission problem is with the tune then.

Thanks.

i didn't say it was not enough of a problem that you should not fix the issue.

again i say what Cam do you have? this will shine some light as to if its your problem or not.

the trans could be a tune, converter or just wore out lol
