Exactly.... Imagine if the clutch would have exploded at 6500 rpm "Feet, what feet?" People don't realize with great power, comes great responsibility.... or something.. In any car with more than 175 or more hp than stock, I would just not rely on stock supporting hardware.

cwhen a clutch/flywheel goes out thats some pretty nasty carnage. dsm guy a while back lost a few toes to this, luckily for him he was shifting and his foot was up off the gas and got him in his toes or else it wouldve taken out an ankle. ive always told myself if i ever drop the tranny (in any of my cars) a scattershield would be a pretty justifiable buy, a "while im down there" item.

I feel ya. I'm surprised that wasn't a Honda.
Anyway, I have been thinking that next time I add some mods to my car that one would be a driveshaft loop, but after seeing that I think when I upgrade my clutch I will be getting a better bellhousing. People can hate on the GT500's all they want, but they can make a ass of power. Thats an upgraded(its got a different name than T-56) Viper spec T-56.

what numbers was this certain GT500 putting out? perhaps there is a dyno sheet of said catastrophic run?
i nary hear of KB Cobra guys blowing trannies, or anyone really blowing T56's in general. would be nice to have a pretty definitive rule of thumb as to when your tranny is on borrowed time.

There were just starting to tune that car...they don't have any numbers on it. They had just installed the KB before that run. So nothing is known.
