hey yall. dont have a mustang but have the scion tc. ok basicly this guy at my work thinks his friends 2000 v6 mustang with headers and exhaust will stomp my tc. were both manual. all i have performance is axelback exhaust and a k&n hi flow air filter. im posting on tc forums and this mustang forum to try to get an opinion from everyone. from all the facts that ive gathered, my tc will stomp that mustang but not bashing yall or anything im just wondering if i will win. putting money down on this so thats mainly why im trying to get my facts strait before i race anyone lol. tell me what yall think? that is if you know anything about the scion tc's. by the way the tc runs a 15.6 stock. idk what the v6 stang runs stock but if someone could fill me in it would be greatly appreciated.

do some google searches. You are at 160/160 and the stang is at 193/225 and will be higher than that with the headers and exhaust. feel free to put as much money as you can on this race. and dont be affraid to post an introduction as well, instead of comming on and just wanting info. ppl dont like that.

It would be close, too close for me at least to feel comfortable putting money on it.

on paper, with those mods, the cars are probably "more or less" even...so the deciding factor will be the loose nut behind the stearing wheel...DRIVER...
whichever of you sucks more at driving will lose...plain and simple...Being "fast" takes skill and practice...regardless of what kind of car you are driving...and since we dont really know you or him, it's hard for us to honestly say who would win, but hopefully, for you, you are the better driver and you will win...if not, he will win...

well the guy from work is so confident (he knows no facts he just thinks all this because he said he doesent know when i asked him about the cars power or what it runs or anything) he said his friend will race for 100 bux. and on top of that 100 hill put down 200. so he said his 200 and his friends 100 to my 100. so if i win i get 300, if i lose i lose 100. hes got headers and exhaust which add at most maybe 8 HP. so its pretty worthless. but im gonna take the race for sure i just dont know when or where. dont wanna go more than a quartermile because it will probably be on a road and i dont like cops.

Go to the track and have a best 2 out of 3. That way it's fair for both sides and less dangerous. Plus witnesses that wont have to be riding in the car. I kinda doubt the exhaust work though adds even 8 hp, probably less.

You should skip the race with the mustang, and just jump right into a race with cajun and his lopey scion
Oh and welcome to the site

Does he have a custom tune along with those headers and whatnot? That could make a big difference as well. I know Kyle from here with his 04 V6 makes untuned V6's look silly...so if he is tuned, it could be a big deal with this race.

dont confuse your tc for being horse power ready to saddle up with a pony. I have had a tc and now have a v6 07 pony with duel cats back exhaulst/cold air intake/throttle body spacer/without being tuned yet(waiting on program)other than that stock. however i would take a stock v6 stang against a tc w/ tuner/catback/cold air & headers any day of the week. tc are fun just a bit clumpsy saying that from experience only

anyway, scion vs stang? go for it, just drive it right and youll have no problems...
