it looks kinda ghetto to me too, but I was liking the dual ram air concept, was thinking of mergin the to together, and using the aluminum but to make a dual ram air induction w/also using my "vornado" fuel savers to spin the air inside the pipes? Also the aluminum would allow me to mold the air ducts around my stock v6 fog lights(oval shape).

Dude spinning air will do nothing for you in the intake tube as soon as the air hits the crossover tube on its way to the plenum the swirl will be gone

Take the vornado and send it to Kansas they like swirly things out there. HAHAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHHAH J/K sort of

that first ram-air won't even work as a ram-air. look at all the tubing it has to go through.

What happens with rain, water, puddles etc with a ram-air setup?


Won't it soak the filter and REDUCE performance? and possibly damage the engine??

No if you have a CAI that goes into the fender area and points down at the opening of the fender and engine bay you dont have to worry do you . unless you drive your stang across rivers or flooded areas like you would in the rubicon it is not a bother what limited water might get on the filter

Right, but with those links showing the home-made 'ram air' setup..

The front of the car gets soaked in the rain while driving, won't it just allow that moisture a direct path to the filter? The cai won't really get direct water on the filter like those ram-air setups will.


Are you saying that the amount of moisture is really not as much as it may seem? Or are these guys taking a HUGE risk for minor gains?

Sorry U nay-sayers, but I built a home made Ram-Air about 4 years
ago that really helped my 89 GT! Helped from a dead stop too!
But I had only a K&N in the stock airbox before, and added the
Ram-Air to that. Never had a problem with moisture, the rain drops are
heavy enough to just hit the sides of the tubing and basically stop.
What little makes it to the filter box would drip down into the bottom
and I believe there are a couple of weep holes in the bottom that it would run out.

Other than that it is OK to get moist air into the engine, ever hear of
water injection? That puts in more water than you would ever get in a
huge rainstorm that you would be driving in. My stangs have all been
"squirrely" in wet weather sorry for the reference Ken
