steering wheel play

My steering wheel has about 1 -1.5 inches of play in it when I turn it. It's getting pretty annoying to me. Any thoughts on what it could be? I think it's more on the steering wheel side of the system rather than the tie rod end side but I'm not sure. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Have someone wiggle the steering wheel while checking the steering shaft u-joint, rag joint, inner tie rods, outer tie rods and rack and pinon bushings. Also, re-torque the steering shaft bolts. could be a steering shaft issue or rag joint Hopefully someone with more knowledge can help you pin point the problem

maybe the bolt fell out/loosened up that holds the steering wheel column (under the hood) to the rack?
