UPDATED: Official Mustang Evolution Lake George Meet...2008

Ok, I am throwing this out there to think about for the next little bit. All you NY, NJ, PA, Ohio, MA, etc members...there is a national car show in Lake George, NY labor day week every year. It is called the Adirondack Nationals. The show is bad ass...all classics...tons of cars from around the country in town. From classics to current. Show Car cruise. Fireworks. Amazing scenery. All in all...Good times.

I used to go to this event every year with my car club (Street Machines of Rochester)...it was great. I miss going, so I am looking to see if anyone else in the area might be interested as well?

I'm looking into rough costs for rooms and things of that nature now. I will post up some of those details once I get them. I'd like to stay at the same hotel that my club stays in as they get the entire back side of the hotel to themselves every year...so the lot is all ours. No tourists to worry about banging your car....and it is a mini car show in and of itself each night.

I'm also going to work on getting a group of us from the south to cruise on up there.....it could be a great meeting of the minds.

Anyhow...I know it is a year away and all...but I thought I would just do a quick check and get an idea of possible interest.

I expect a lot of this answer...which is perfectly understandable...I just want to get it out there and get people thinking about it. In the mean time, I'm working on details so that when it comes time to reserve the rooms...we can get them. They sell out fast. I'll probably hold 3-4 of them in my name and have everyone pay me since it won't cost anything to cancel a room or two once we have a solid head count. That would account for 12-16 people (as far as the front desk is concerned) which should be plenty of space. If not, I'll hold more as it doesn't cost anything to reserve them.

Once it gets closer, we would start deciding that. It would all depend on where everyone was coming from.

I, and hopefuly 2 or 3 others, would be coming from louisiana...I am hoping about 3-4 come from alabama....

And yes, this trip is killer. The show is great. It is definitely a good time for everyone...specially a car junkie.

But like I said, once it gets closer and we see who all is going...then we can set up the points of interest. Odds are, there will be a couple meetups kind of like our last get together had.

ah. okay, sounds good then. This will be fun, I met up with around 100 mustangs a few weeks ago in Memphis, TN. and thought I'd wet my pants.. I can't wait to see what this is like.

What is that like a 17 hour or so drive to NY? That is rough. I thought 12 to myrtle was rough but damn I would stay overnight after about 8 I think, split the trip to 2 days.. Especially if you all are gonna take your car you know

I have driven it several times. It will depend on everyone that is going as to what we do. me, personally, I would prefer just making it in 1 shot. It would be about 19-20 hours from baton rouge with normal gas stops just to get to the buffalo area, and then about 4 hours from there to lake george. However, I believe we are all stopping off in niagara falls to attend a night at the canadian ballet....then heading to lake george.

If the people go that I think will go, we will probably setup one stop around huntsville over night and then head out from there. Otherwise, may up in tennessee if some folks from there decide to go as well. Then, if people from other states decide to come too, we can meet them along the way as we get closer.

I wouldn't be against stopping off on the way...I'm just one for let's go and get there and be done and enjoy ourselves kind of person.

Now, coming back home? There will definitely be at least one stop over. You are never as excited to head home as you are to head there.
