hey v6 mustang guys, I was just wondering what yall thought about a v6 mustang with bolt ons against a cobalt ss. I have cold air, intake spacer, UD pulleys, exhaust, and wires. I beat my buddies GT but it was a convt. and an auto. We did a 40 roll and raced till about 100 and I beat him but a whole car. Let me know what yall think about the race against the cobalt ss thanks.

seeing even a stock GT can make short work of even mildly modded Slobalts, and you took a GT already, you *should* have no trouble.
Cobalts arent as easy to mod like say, a SRT4 or the like. Motor isnt that well designed (IE cant do 500whp untouched like a SRT4/4g63,etc). even pullied and tuned cobalts will get slapped around by stock srt4's (which is pretty sad for the Cobalts). So if said Cobalt is modded, he still likely wont be a threat.

and what year gt did you beat? had an 08 cobalt try to do a fly on me in second. Was actually kinda nice, got to hear the whine and all. I just stabbed the peddle and was gone. granted I have a gt, but I dont see a bolt-on 6er having too much of a problem. Will be a decent race, but you should start to pull eventually.

There are different levels of Cobalt SS's one is just a 2.4L NA engine and the other is a supercharged 2.0L motor. The supercharged one runs a possible~ mid 14 stock so... you wont have enough steam for that one if he can drive.

Is the Cobalt SS supercharged? The supercharged SS's make significantly more power and are significantly quicker than their non-supercharged counterpart...
non-supercharged cobalt SS you will beat hands down...supercharged SS will be a lot closer and depend a lot more on driver and the type of racing you are doing, i.e. roll/dig/etc.

I know, or am pretty sure, Kyle on here has run a supercharges cobalt as one of his buddies moved into one from his V6. Kyle has the basic boltons and a custom tune. I'm not sure what the results are...maybe he can chime in when he gets off work.
I know I beat that same cobalt in a 3rd gear roll from 20 mph and about 2/3rds throttle...but I don't really count much.

when we ran from a low rolls and digs i would hold him off till around 85-90.........then the awesome top end of the v6 comes into play. he put about 1-2 cars from 90-115. they dont walk away fast, but they do walk.
i've always wanted to run a gt vert but never had the chance. i've run the auto coupes which are a couple hundred pounds lighter. when i've run those gt's with just boltons, the result is always the same. i would either jump in front or hold even till around 90, then get a couple cars put on me. i know i can beat a vert. one instance i've run a stock auto gt and held him door to door until 120
but anyway, what will happen is this: you will jump in front and hold till around 90 then he will creep past you. it will piss you off very much b/c it wont be a hard walk, it will be a really slow creep

Yeah, this race will definitely show the difference between a tuned and untuned V6. lol

also, i though all ss cobalts were s/c..............isnt that what makes them the "ss", otherwise, they would just be a two door cobalt right?

Why would the intake air temperature sensor be under the steering column or kick panel?
