Custom Paint

I was thinking of getting a custom paint job for my 01 sixer. The last guy who had it got in a wreck, got the body work done nicely, then put a piece of **** paint job on it. Just wondering if y'all had any pics of nicely done Stangs where I could get some ideas?

to get a custom paint job done correctly expect a rather high bill.

just to get mine fixed and new parts painted, is costing upwards of a 1500$ for paint....thank God for car insurance! but to get my other stuff painted its gonna be an additional 500+ just for small things


all in all is gonna cost me about 1200 to get my car back next week lol

A high bill is expected with most but connections work very well. I was just trying to get some ideas of what I could do. I've look all over yahoo and google and nothing has really appealed to me that much.

you don't want to overdo it too...stick to one color, maybe add stripes, but you don't want it to get too busy

Go with a 2 stage paint and leave it at that.

BMW has some sick colors.

Look at some of theirs and maybe go down to a local paint shop and just flip through some of their books and finished photos and see if theres a color you like.

When I hadmine repainted I stuck with a color that was pretty close to original because I didnt want to have to pay the extra needed to get the door sills and engine bay sprayed to match.

I had them put down the original color and then a layer of clear with a blue flake in it, followed by 5 more coats of just clear. Its awesome when you see your car for the first time and it looks brand new.

Why is everybody so against a true "custom" paint? Is it because of price or other reasons?

It simply never, ever looks good.

you have to find the fine line between looking good and going over the top~ its hard to do... this is why its not just how much money you spend on a car that determines how nice it is.

I understand this and plan to make the car still look clean yet still flowing.

If ANYBODY has some pictures with some kind of idea of what I'm talking about please post.

I like the two tone but I just want something different.
