94 stang cabin upgrade

I am going to upgrade the cabin speakersin my 94. There just one problem I have. I dont know what size the door speakers are or what will fit in the door. I know the back are 5x7. I have the standard system now NOT 460. Will 5.25's fit in the door?

5x7 and 6x8 are one in the same. Both will work.

So there are 5x7's in front and back? wierd. will 5.25 fit if I make an adapter plate?

It might be able to, I don't see why not. I know a 6.5 inch speaker requires some trimming to fit..been there done that.

I ask about the 5.25 because is not too big but, doesnt a round speaker produce clearer sounds that an oblong 5x7 ?

Depends on the speaker. You can buy a good quality 5x7 or 6x8 and it will sound alot better than a cheap round speaker. I know boston acoustics makes a component system for the 5x7 speakers and it will probably outdo most any 5.25 speakers you come across.

To be honest I thought the same thing about it would look cool when I got the current speakers (Pioneer kevlar series) but you can't even see them.

i am doing a somewhat custom sound system and some will be where color could matter. plus it is just knowing they match is good for me.

I making my own 460 + system. door tweeters , 2 12s or 10s , 4 4x6s 5x7s in back. 5x7s in doors and 4" speakers up front too somewhere. Not sure where 4s are going but theyre going in front somewhere.
