I love trucks, namely F150's. Here is the 09 model.

Quote:
The 2009 Ford F-150 has until now been kept a closely guarded secret, but the Blue Oval's best seller was recently caught by KGP photographers apparently on its way back to the safe confines of a trailer after a photoshoot. This first look at the undisguised F-150 shows a new front end that features a version of the brand's three-bar grille, though in this case it appears that the upper and lower bars are larger than the center one. The headlights also appear to be very similar to those used on the Edge CUV and Taurus X, dipping down and extending their height closer to where they meet the grille. KGP has also spotted new taillights, new rearview mirrors and subtle changes to the character lines on the sides of the truck.
The spy photographers were surprised to see how little the truck has visually changed, wondering whether it indicates a lack of imagination by Ford or simply a lack of funds. We're fairly certain that Ford doesn't mess around when it comes to its cash cow, so the money must be somewhere, but perhaps it's been invested in things we can't see like upgraded mechanicals and new drivetrains. For better or worse, the pickup wars are largely won on paper where stats can be compared objectively. We're betting the new F-150 will be a stout steed when it's unveiled, presumably at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show in January. Whether or not its new look is a big enough departure from the current truck, or if that even matters, will be decided by consumers when it goes on sale next year.

I like it except a crewcab + 6.5 foot bed looks stupid. Kind of like a extendedcab + 8 foot bed. It looks like a bigass penis riding down the road or something.
Also 16 spoke wheels on a F150 look gay as shit. This isn't a Escalade, people are going to thing your gay riding down in the woods with some blinging 16 spoke wheels. Let show some brakes or something.
Other than that I think it looks pretty good.

My biggest deal is trucks aren't trucks any more. They are cars that are bigger and can haul crap. A truck used to be a minimalistic, utility vehicle that was built for a reason. If you wanted a truck you dealt with it. Now, they got backup cameras, heated leather seats, dvd/nav systems, backup warning beepers, all this bull crap that drives the price up. Don't get me wrong, I am in these trucks all day and they are nice, but all that crap annoys me.

It looks so nice.Toyota and GM have both recently released completely remodeled and highly successful versions of their own full size pickups. As the F150 is Ford's bread and butter model, it needs to be a home run to ensure their independent survival. Beneath the skin, there is rumored to be a new line of more powerful and fuel efficient V8 engines as well as a new six speed automatic transmission. These V8s had better be good, as the current Triton engines are currently the also rans power wise versus their competitors. A 4.4 liter diesel option may also be made available but there is currently no confirmation from Ford on that rumor

If you take a glance at it it looks just like the new tundra. Cmon ppl, make a truck again. Square, steel bumpers. Bench seats. Manual transmission.

I like it, just not the wheels or the 6.5 foot bed on a crewcab. I'm not a crewcab fan because I don't plan on sitting in the back seat of my own truck, if I had a truck.

I'm still under the impression that for a truck to be sold in the United States it should be field tested by farmers in the south for a month. Any part of the truck that doesn't break or fall off can be put on the production model. If it breaks or comes off then it does not go on the production truck.
I promise there'd be no more plastic bumpers and chrome wheels and leather interiors.
This is why most people who really use trucks try to get mid to early 90's models....they actually hold up.

most people don't care for an old fashion truck anymore, they want it to be a lot like a car. that is what sells.

My 07 Flareside doesn't have any of that stuff (save for the backup beeper, but i turn that thing off anyway)...
Mine is a basic 2wd step side that i got to haul my mustang and race tires on a trailer and I just put a Line-X spray-in in it for hauling stuff...
As for the 90 F150's, it looks basically like they took the current 07-08 models and stuffed a Ford Edge front nose/grille on it...
