I just purchased a 2004 Mustang V6 for my son and the first mods he wants to make are body improvements. Can anyone recommend a manufacturer? I believe he is looking at a Stalker hood from Cervini.

I have never modified a car before, so any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

With the hood situation, Cervini's does make excellent quality hoods, but it is always recommened to get hoods pins just in case.

And with any bumpers or side skirts, you will want urethane over fiberglass. Fiberglass bumpers are very poor quality and most shatter from one hit parking or a rock on the interstate.

Here is a few samples of what is out there for the '99-'04 Mustang.

Roush Stage 3 Body Kit

Roush Stage 2 Ground Effects

Saleen Body Kit

Cervini's Stalker Body Kit

And here is some of the most OEM products.

The '99 Cobra with Mach 1 chin spoiler.

The '03 Cobra front.

Hope that helps you out some.

The BEST advice that I can give you is to spend extra money for a better (better quality) product from a business that is known for taking care of their customers.

Many like saleen but saleen parts direct from saleen (best quality for saleen parts...) isnt very good. They are not horrible but... they are not great either.

Roush is through Ford and they fit rather good (never heard of ANY fitting issues). Roush stage 3 is a nice kit the only issue is the side exhaust skirts are very low. A mustang NEEDS to be lowered 1.5 inches or so to look decent so when you do this your roush side skirts with the roush side exhaust will scrap on near everything. Just a word of warning.

Many like to use Ford OEM parts such as those sold for the 99-04 Cobra. The 99-01 cobra have a different front bumper. The 03-04 cobra have a different front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper, spoiler, and hood. These parts are high quality in fit. You can get them from ford racing (not just from ford directly...) and save a ton on them.

Cervinis is also good on quality. I would make SURE I went with urathane for my bumpers. Dont go fiberglass. Anywhere that would sell fiberglass is second rate anyway.

Be VERY careful on what hood you pick. If they are not safe they can fly up while driving and trash your car or cause you to wreck and even kill yourself. I would go with an OEM hood (ford hood) to be safe on this. Ford has put some nice hoods on the mustang so it shouldnt be to hard to find a nice one.

Post up what ever it is that you are looking at and we can help guide you to the right place and the right parts.
