Transmission?

I have a 2000 with a t-45 I believe and every once in awhile my transmission will grind when I shift into 5th. All other gears are fine when shifting. I have tried to be sure the clutch is pressed down as far as it will go but it still grinds going in. It feels like I am driving a semi. Do I just need to adjust my clutch? Any help would be appreciated.

Do either of the following:

1: Double clutch

2: FORGET THE CLUTCH!!!!

5th gear is a weak gear, it happens. My 01 v6 did it every once in a while. It happens when 5th is abused (shifted into hard etc etc) or just from normal wear and tear.

You can rev up a bit as you shift into 5th and try to find the sweet spot to ease it in. Or put it into neutral first and wait for the rpms to drop a bit then slide it in.

does it do it all the time? do you change your trans fluid every 20k or so? if not you should. If your clutch petal is low and you barly push it in to shift then you may need to take out some of the slack in it, that may help some as well~

My pick up used to grind going into 5th. I had to get it to neutral and apply a TAD of pressure to 5th gear and as the RPM's came down It went in on its own.
