AOD tranny question?

I am currently converting to carb. I've ripped out eec-IV and wiring harness. I know that I need an MSD ignition and distributor for a carbed setup. I also am aware of the rewiring needed for some of my guages etc... Someone was telling me that I wont be able to use an AOD witout using the eec-IV. I think that is bogus info right? I already bought and installed the tv cable from Lokar. They are trying to tell me it wont work right without the computer. Are they right? Its not an AODe. I need to know ASAP as I have a c-4 to put in it but that would require a lot more headaches that I am not ready for like, a different driveshaft, moving my tranny mount, buying a new kickdown cable for a c-4 etc... I was just gonna ignore him and try it out when all of the ignition wiring was done, but I would rather research it first, I dont want to F--K anything else up if its not right. Anyone whos familiar with this swap? I would greatly appreciate any info. thanks and happy modding!

as far as I know the AOD is not controled at all via a computer but I am not 100% on it.

what year stang are you working on ? The 94 up I'm almost 100% sure that the auto transmission is controlled by computer. The transmission has torque converter lockup solenoids shift solenoids pressure sensors speed sensors and all is controlled by the computer. best bet is a c-4 or a manual transmission set up.

The aod should do fine the eaod would need the computer but you can take an aode and pull it apart and place everyhing in the aod for a stronger tranny. The aode was a fix to all the issues the aod had but brought along its own issues as well.
