Well, stopped by the tranny shop today. The mechanic and I found out that one of my spider gears broke in the differential. There were 2 decent sized pieces in the bottom of the housing. He's suggesting that all four spider gears be replaced and he's also gonna check to make sure that none of the differential clutches went bad.
My question is, would it be better to fix my current differential or can I swap in a 89 5.0 8.8 rear with little difficulty?
My buddy has his whole rear and said I can have it cheap (don't know how cheap yet) but I want to make sure everything will work that way I dont get reamed on labor.
BTW, I've been busy, sorry for not posting in awhile.
