If I were you, I at least get one that you can set up so it'll turn on and brew, so when you get up in the morning it's already made. A nice feature also is one that will cut the power off after a certain amount of time.

I need to get rid of my cheapie and grab one like that too. To be honest though I don't drink enough coffee at the house to go out and spend the cash. I mainly drink up the GO juice at work.

I got a cappuccino machine... didn't think I would use it all that much, but it's become almost every morning. Not sure I could do the coffee, but you do at least get some pretty fantastically awesome coffee makers for not too terribly much.

I've bought cheap ones, expensive one, electric ones, manual ones. To be honest, the ones I've found to work the best are the ones that aren't the cheapest but not the most expensive. If it has more crap on it, it'll tear up faster.
Buy a Mr. Coffee 15 or 20 dollar coffee maker and enjoy your life.

I have to agree with Lowflyn, Mr. Coffee personal here. It makes I believe 8 cups but there is no timer or auto off. I spent 17 bucks on it and it brews 8 cups in about 5 minutes, pretty quick imho.
My parent's is nice, its got all the bells and whistles but im pretty sure we got it for around 50 bucks. It brews slow as hell though.
I have always been a fan of the makers with the valve so when you pull the pot out and its not done brewing it keeps coffee from dripping onto the hot plate. Its niice

That's all we buy. Keep all your bells and whistles...just give me an on/off button and a means of filtering water through grounds and I am a happy man.
Coffee...the juice of life in my household.

Amen
Coffee is the best way to start the day. Waking up to the bean grinder doing its thing rules.

up at school I use my mom's 30 year old black and decker
4 cup coffee maker = 3 heaping teaspoons of grounds...
Its pretty fool proof... you can't overfill it, and it somehow makes great coffee for being so old
