Ok, let's get a thread on it and discuss the possibilities.

I would like to make it up there for this. Several others have voiced interest in it in other threads.

So, let's start a thread to keep track of it.

I will probably only go up for the June 7th stuff...probably head up there June 6th and come home June 8th. Could be a nice little mini-meet for those in the area.

I'll have to see how things are by then and read into it some more. I wouldn't mind it...it all just depends.

I'm not taking time off for this so I can save my time for the NY trip 3 months later...but I still think the weekend will be fun.

I can tell you after many trips it takes 6 1/2 hours from Baton Rouge to Little Rock "almost never touching the interstate"

Google maps has it taking 7 1/4 hours going through lafayette....is that the way you took and just hovered over the highway? or did you take another route?

And...I intend to just hover as well....I will have a V1 by then.

And, it looked like that was a much more direct route that going to Laf. and picking up 40 whatever it is over there...

their are a few light but mostly back country roads
trust me it's over an hour faster
I drove back and forth every weekend for six months I've tryed every route their is

Cool, I will have to get those directions from you later...unless I can convince Justin over in pineville to go...then I will go through Laf and pick up him on the way through.

rob pull up an online map you take hwy. 61 out of B.R. to hwy. 65
take hwy. 65 to Pine Bluff then take I-530 into L.R.

I looked at that yesterday when you posted the power tour link...it looked more direct....just wasn't sure how the road was.

I was looking at the route from Ottuma, IA to LR as well, and google has you go west about 1.5 hours, then south, then east 1.5 hours...when there is a route just like the 65 route that goes straight there. Something about trying to get the closest major hwy I guess.

the hour differance comes from not having to drive an hour west to get to Laff.
you just go straight north

if you want you can barrow my TomTom GPS for the trip

mapquest and google tries to keep you on the interstate even if it's out the way

Nah, I'm not bad with directions...My biggest question was whether there were a ton of lights and 40 mph zones up 61 and 65...and if not, it makes a lot more sense to take that route...
