Like i told you yesterday....which should have been all the opinion you needed  ... I think they would add some character to your car. I didn't realize yesterday that they have the cables...but, you could also look for the ones that are cable-less and the pin snap locks instead.

You could easily take the cables off, but i kinda like the old school muscle car look with the cables on...

I was also thinking about getting the bigger gt500 cobra emblems since they are satin and not chrome and would match my new wheels better. Just cant decided if i want the ones with black paint or the "red stripe" edition ones with the red paint in them. |

^^^ Do they come with a free set of chopsticks too? Or maybe some duck sauce?
The cables are fine, it is just a matter of them smacking the paint all the time that bothers me.

you got to have the cables
are far as them hitting the paint the pins on the chevelle the cables are rubber coated and I spin the pin one turn and that holds the cable away from the paint

But does it stay away at high speed? It isn't normal driving I would be concerned about...it would be the high speed jaunts applying the extra pressure on the cables causing them to whap against the paint.

I know a 70 they still arn't touching
but never looked at the cables any faster than that

Why are you worried about your hood flying up? it is the stock hood right? Or are you planning on some super high speed runs?

I have seen plenty of stock hoods fly up on mustangs too, and yes Rob i do plan on some supersonic high speed runs! |

I dont like them... they look out of place and if your car doesnt warrent them (stock hood) they are just for flash.

You have a good point, i guess it's kinda like installing a driveshaft safety loop, do you really need it? maybe not, but the first time the driveshaft comes apart and you loose a leg you will wish you spent the $100 to have one installed. I have had a hood fly up on me a 50mph and i can tell you if there would have been anykind of traffic around i would had a collision for sure. But to each his own I guess! (and yes it was a stock hood, and no it wasnt on my cobra) |

Yes, after my first attemp of beating the land speed record in my former mustang and the hood flying up at 50mph, I decided that it was time to install some hood pins. And to think i was so close to beating the record! |
