It really doens't look all that different, same overall body lines, just a little different twist to it.

maybe they are just displaying other concept designs or maybe they made an executive decision last second. they badged the ford five hundred to the taurus last second before, so i can see it happening.

Since GM and Chrysler are copying Ford and bringing out their retro Muscle cars I think it would be cool if Ford went back to a modern design. I would lmao.

Nice concept but are we sure it isnt some kinda Shelby concept????
Yeah I think Ford will stay along the retro lines to keep up with the competition since the retro design has helped make the mustang more popular....

Actually, Dodge releasing their new "Charger" was really the beginning of the Retro movement... OR, if you want to get real technical, when VW started selling the Beatle again could really be the starting point.

I'd say the PT Cruiser is what really kicked it off.

IMO the Charger doesn't look retro, just different. Also the only thing that they really have in common with the original Chargers is a V-8 and RWD. Their more of a larger family sedan. Mustang was an affordable Muscle car that appealed to a large group of people 43/44 years ago, and it uses the same basic concept today. IMO if Ford didn't build the retro Mustang then Chevy and Chysler wouldn't be building their new retro Muscle cars. I say change it up on them and build a modern design Mustang, and still beat them at their own game.(Actually its Fords game, but you know what I'm saying)

that wouldn't work.
A. its not a Game.
B. more people enjoy retro cars, than the futuristic designs when it concerns muscle cars. this is evident with the sucsess of the mustang, and failure of the GTO.
C. you cant just LOOK the part. The next thing Ford needs to do is step it up and invest in an independent rear suspension or more and more people are going to be switching to GM.
