True, thanks Spec.  I was mainly talking about the chrome fr500's there and wanting to run dd in the back if I go with those, I'm still sort of between trying to decide between the fr500's and the cobra wheels.
Hmmm...I haven't seen the dd cobras personally, but I do know the chrome fr500's look hot in the dd like Brad's and other's that have them! I'm definitely going chrome no matter what! We'll know soon! |

I like the 17 " and I'm with Rob about the chrome rims I just don't like the look of chrome rims. But that just me !! What about the weight differance between the 17 and 18 rims/tires (more weight takes power)

There's not that much weight difference between a 17" versus a 18" wheel...

Thanks Herb...and Brad. I don't really know all that much about that personally. I like things about both the 17" and 18" and a lot of people don't like chrome, but I love it...I'm just still a little bit undecided on what kind of wheel I want to go with.
Not to get off topic, but I think I'm going with 4.10's for gears! And I need to get a tune soon! From Stang Hi of course! |

Ever little pound counts .When i put the 275/40/17 on the 8" rim that's was a 40lbs increase over stock rims/tires and it felt like they suck all the torque out of the engine. next tire purchase I'm goin with 245/45/17

every 1 pound of rotational mass is equal to 10 pounds of dead weight. If your rims 17vs18 are 5 pounds heavier each thats 50 pounds per rim... 200 total dead weight pounds. Its not the end of the world just annoying and an FYI.

Yea see your point there venom, however not all of us have a shitload of 491rwhp so in my case Rotating tires is a money saver for a grad student like myself.

Meh, I had the same size on my other car all the way around 275/35-18. Didn't rotate them from the day they went on, 20k later they all looked the same when I pulled them off. So now, I have 4 tires for the front, I'll fork out the little extra for some meat in the back.

I tend to steer away from chrome but that is just my personnal opinion. I like to show off but chrome seems overly flashy. Good point about getting the wheels the same size all around.

I think you will be happy with the chrome 18's. There are some pics of matt's gt in this photo album and he has the same color car as you i believe with chrome fr500's but his are 17's.
