Visteon Mach MP3 Replacement

I am thinking about replacing my stock Mach MP3 head unit; however, each electronics store gives me a different story as to how it needs to be replaced. The second I say Mach, they all give me a frown, and say that is gonna cost you because of the factory amps installed with this radio.

As near as I can find out, the Mach MP3 does not have any factory amps. Can anyone verify this?

Also if anyone has replaced the stereo already, I would appreciate any pointers.

rip out the entire mach clusterfuck and go with a decent deck, components up front and good replacements for the rear deck speakers. rewire it all. you can get the metra install kit which comes in handy for doing the power/gnd parts of the deck install.
