Somebody tried to break into my Stang!!!

Being it's the Holiday's & all, I'll try & bite my tongue. Saying that, we've been using the wife's SUV since we've got family in town & we'd be a little crowded in the Mustang, so she's been parked on the carport for about a week. I'm not really sure when it happened, but sometime after midnight last night, someone tried to break into my drivers' side door!!! I've had the cops here all morning "dusting" for fingerprints & making a F-ing mess of my car. Turns out they couldn't lift any prints off her after spending an hour & a half standing around scratching their heads. They say it looks like they tried to use a pry-bar to open the door...to which I replied, "No Shit!!!"
The little punks didn't get anything, I guess our motion detector lights scared them off before they got the door open.
Sorry guys just had to share this great start to the new year with ya. Here's some pics of the door, after I got all the "volcano dust" off her.

yea ... worthless ass hole probably looking for something to sell cheap to score some drugs by the pics it seems they didnt get into the quarter panel (be very thankful) so its just a door skin... could have been much worse. I would have rather them just break the window though... idiot.

I don't get it though? Only damage is to the door, if they were trying to pry it open, you'd think there'd be pillar damage...?? I'm glad they didn't get in, there's alot of $$$ in stereo equip. in there.

sorry to hear about that, hope you get it fixed inexpensively. Glad they didnt get anything inside and hope they dont come back later.
btw, you're lucky the cops came and even dusted. the last time i had a car broken into, the cop came, wrote some notes about the damage for the insurance report, asked me if i still had the serial number for the radio (which i still had the box for some reason). Then told me they dont do fingerprint dusting or anythign like that for items less than a few grand because tracking down petty theives takes too much time and resources from the department personnel. He told me the only chance of me ever seeing my stuff again or doing anything about it is if someone gets caught stealing stuff and they confiscate it they would check any stolen radios found on them against my serial number. Yeah right. |

 Why do we always have to hear these stories where people stole, or damaged someones car, and got away?
I just want to hear one where the owner saw them, and got out the 12 gauge, and put some double alt buckshot in their chest. That would be a great story.  |

If someone wanted something out of my car bad enough to screw it up... and probably break what ever it was they wanted... just ask... I would rather give it to you then have something messed up.
