WARNING: this post contains non mustang shit. if you dont want to see non-mustang shit, dont continue or tell me this is a mustang site. (not that anybody has, i'm just being defensive i guess )
to florida
and then this happened
i drove on friday:
and came to a rest stop
more driving
it took like 6.5 hours because of rain and an absurd traffic jam past atlanta towards macon. jimmy, did you crash on 75 or something?
shiney
arival at the destination
i slept for like 3 hours the night before but laid in bed for like 9
in the morning
there were lots of people
there i am
bow-legged..i dunno wtf is up with that
so i pulled out to go up for my first track session ever...and directly in front of my spot is a bunch of sand. i pulled out nice and easy and got about 6 feet and as i turned left and the back tire slid out. making me twist the throttle and launch sand. but i saved it, haha. then some guy who was coming off of the intermediate session completely busted right in front of me for no reason. i just looked up and he was sprawled out on the ground as his bike smacked.
it got pretty hot...in december
w00t!
all the noobs...im on the left
still warming the tires
i forgot to crouch sometimes
pitting
my method for avoiding kick stand sinkage...the kickstand scraped in some of my turns too
sticky tire
i fixed my foot position eventually.
too fast for the camera....lol...not really, of course
feel the warmth
hooray...knee downage...or was it just some sandpaper?
no, my shoulders dont connect to my jaws...the suit was just kinda pushed up...i fixed it later
back protector
one of the better turns..touch down
those last three were extracted from video footage...maybe ill post a small vid later
the guy who set up beside me went in the intermediate group. in the first session, he crashed in the high speed part of the track. i think he highsided on his r6. a hospital ambulance had to come and he was taken to the hospital. they said he probably broke a couple of bones, but he was conscious and everything and will be fine. there were a total of 6 crashes. i saw one of them which was in turn 1 in which a guy leaned pretty hard and leaned a little too far i guess and lowsided. it's a pretty high speed turn but he was fine. i saw 4 run offs too. 5 of the crashes were in intermediate, and 1 was advanced.
packed up
in my second or third session on the second lap probably, i was about to start a left turn and this guy on a gixxer 1k passed me just before i leaned in for the turn, but he was going waaaaay too fast and straightened out to run off into the grass/sand...which forced me to either turn like mad or run off with him. i just straightened and ran off. we both went quite a ways off the track before finally getting slowed down. then we merged back on with no prob-le-mo's.
my top speed was 120 due to a short straight and 14 turns on a 2 mile track...though i wasnt looking at the speedo much, i tried to get a quick glance at the top. down far enough to touch the knee feels farther down than it looks.
also, i pretty much stayed in third gear the whole time. once i was in third i didnt get out of it. i was focusing a lot more on the lines and taking turns faster and i dont think the gear changing would really have gained me any speed over all.
i just put those grips on the sides of the tank. i dunno how much i like them yet.
it was extremely fun.
they made me wear that all day.....bitches
and finally, i am still sore. jeez, my legs hurt like mad for a couple days. i am decently in shape, but all the moving around on the bike used muscles i dont normally use and made me way more sore than i ever expected. you have to do a lot more work than it looks like to do this stuff.
No, i didnt ever fall off!!!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSS

Nope, wasn't me, lol, but you did pass right by my house (right off exit 164). Traffic was crazy all weekend (rain + holiday traffic).

no, it's in jennings, FL. It's barely into florida just below valdosta, GA. called JenningsGP. it's a strictly motorcycle track.
thanks, it's my brothers.

That mini tent looks awfully familiar. I almost expected to see Nate in the background passed out in his own vomit.

Wow, that looks fun. I would like to try that some day. I am more of a motocrosser. I used to race quads. I like big air and whoops. my biggest jump was over shooting a 110ft table top distance was prolly 120+ feet. abouit soiled my self but I made it!!!
I know what you mean by a lot of work. IMO the best way to do it is to ride 2+ days in a row. you learn a lot more than single day rides as far as fast corner lines and what not. Also riding while your sore builds good stamina.
Glad you had fun!! Nice bike too, very sharp.
