i have a 2003 mustang GT with Eibach sportline springs, KYB adjustable shocks, Maximum Motorsports coil over, Maximum Motorsports caster camber plates, Maximum Motorsports bumpsteers, JBA Shorty Headers,MAC Offroad H-pipe, MAC Cold Air Intake, Melatone mufflers, and STEEDA tri-ax Short Shifter.
What kind of gears should i have put on my mustang 3.73,3.90,or 4.10????
What gears should I put on my 03 mustang gt: 3.73, 3.90, or 4.10?
The mods I already have are: JBA shorty headers, Mac ofroad h- pipe, Mac cold air intake, melatone exhaust, and a steeda short shifter. When the car was purchased I was told it was pushing about 330 hp.

most people will tell ya 3.73 and a few will say to go big and do 4.10's. i have seen people wit 4.10s put up some great quarter mile times. the only problem wit 4.10s is it will cause fuel economy to drop, not sure how impartant that is to you though.

I would determine where you will run out of gear at when you go to the track. You dont want to have to shift extra times so if 4.10s vs 3.73s makes you shift again then dont do the higher gear. This is only if you care about drag racing.
3.73 over your stock 3.27s will be about 2.5 tenths of an improvment at the track and 4.10s will be another tenth or so maybe~ I cant remember the exact percentage difference in the gears but 3.73s are more for those that DD their car but its really not that big of a difference... I mean would you freak out about 3.73 vs 3.99 as much as 4.00

I don't think you are that high on a GT with just those mods...you are probably closer to around 250-260s at the wheels. Stock they are 260 at the crank and you have about 30 hp worth of mods assuming shorties bump you that much.
But anyhow, 3.73 is generally the recommendation for a manual...4.10s would obviously be more seat of the pants kick if you don't mind cruising around 3k rpms roughly on the highway.
If in doubt, split the difference and run the 3.90's.
But, generally, it is said to run 3.73s in a manual and 4.10's in an auto.

3.90's IMO
4.10's might be too high if you do alot of freeway driving, youd be taching around 3K. 3.73's really isnt worth the price or hassle of the swap imo.

3.73's would be a nice upgrade from his stockers...remember, he has 3.27's now...not 3.55's like us.
But, I do agree, 3.90's would be a nice middle of the road compromise since you are undecided.

you'll need a install kit.. Have a reputable shop install them. it will be around $300 or more to install. Do it right and pay the money for it. it is one thing you don't want to cut corners with.
I got my kit from Summit Racing Part # RMG-8310451

4.10's great n/a, around town driving, better mpg around town with them. 3.73's great all around gear, little better mpg on the freeway, better on a power adder i think. i loved my 4.10's n/a, but i switched to 3.73's. my car didnt like the short gearing on the bottle.
