Alright, ive been readin the boards here a little bit so far today and this site seems really helpful with a lot of intelligent people who know a thing or two about mustangs, so i decided to sign up. My parents bought me a used 2004 v6 40th anniversary addition for xmas. Its all stock. Obviously my first aftermarket part will more than likly (beyond tintng the windows and gettin carbon fiber taillights) be a CAI.
Ive been shoppin around a little bit...and americanmuscle.com seems to be a really reputable source for aftermarket parts, so im probably going to buy one from them. With that being said does anyone have any comments, suggestions, advice on which one to go with ...

site: Mustang Cold Air Intake Kits at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

thanks alot, and im sure ill be giving the vets here many more opportunites to help out a rook like me

first off welcome to the site...

secondly... I've heard good things about UPR's intake..

UPR Mustang Aluminum Cold Air Intake Kit for 95-04 Mustang V6 - UPR-5022-94-02 and I've also heard somewhere's that there's a $10 off orders over $100 offer for forum members (look in the sponsors' forum, and ask user atomic performance about what coupon code to use..)

Good luck with the new car

do exhaust first CAI's are near worthless. At least with exhaust you get sound. Also CF tail lights will look like crap as well so dont waste your money.

There is a link/thread somewhere around here about where to start modding a car from the very beginning...

Generally, the order of mods is something like this:
(1) Exhaust - Catback/midpipe
(2) Gears - 3.73's or 4.10's
(3) CAI
(4) Tune...
(5) other stuff...

Although on knewer cars, like 05+'s, you need to tune the car with pretty much everything you do besides a catback exhaust...

Welcome to the site. Congrats on the stang and good look with the mods! I agree with the guys that exhaust is the first stop, gears (I'm going 4.10 on my GT), a custom tune and a CAI if you really want. It's really up to you what order to go with mods, but these guys really know what they're talking about when it comes to mustangs.

Enjoy the site!

Thanks for the thread Herb, that's very helpful for me too!
