just a quickie if i gutted my stock cats would it throw a check engine light and mess with performance? i plan on getting an off-road x-pipe and MIL elims from BBK but just a quick thing i want to do real fast
you will get a CEL if you remove the cats. You should get a programmer to turn it off as MIL eliminators suck and stop working from time to time.

You really wont get any hp/tq gain with no cats, it will just be louder. Is that what you are going for?

yeah i have flowmaster 40 series on it now i just think its too quiet but ill be getting an offroad h here in a few days so im going to hold off and keep the stock pipes and just get an offroad h
There isn't much difference between the 2 pipes power wise. When deciding between the two it really just depends on the sound you're looking for. X will give you a higher pitch growl while the H will be a lower rumble.
Just depends on your preference. I prefer H-pipes on 2v and X-pipes on 4v's
