I have been thinking about doing some sort of h/c/i swap or work on my 2002 v6 and have heard people talking up the windstar intake. Here are my current mods:

Steeda tri-ax shifter, 3.73 gears and auburn posi unit, Ebay CAI, Magnaflow V6 exhaust kit(keeps Y pipe) and a custom chip from VMP.

Anyway, what if I went with the windstar upper intake with my car as it is currently Would I see some pretty good gains or no? How would the Windstar intake compare to a port job on a set of stock intakes? Also, what year is the best for the windstar intake and how much fo they cost...also....is it worth it? Shop price for the work? Is the fact the the intake is plastic anything to worry about?

If I went with the windstar intake, is this the upper. lower, or both?
Also, how long would u reccomend running this before getting a tune?

Lastly...any otehr mods you can suggest...I am a poor grad student so money is a tight

You might see a small gain but as little as it may be every little bit counts.

The main problem you'll run into is the windstar intake won't clear the factory hood since it takes it from the front.

Well..I am thinking about getting a new front and rear bumper(not sure what style yet..suggestions would rock) so a new hood would be fun to grab as well. What hood styles you guys suggest or like? Only one I've seen is that stalker hood.

So, small gains with the windstar intake huh? Well....I am assuming that with other breathing mods it would be greater...correct?

Cobra or Cowl Induction....I've always liked the Cowl hoods, but then again Everyone and their mom will want to race you if you get one and it probably wouldn't feel good getting canned with that hood.
