My favorite part about those little auto blogs/stories is the stupid user comments made by ignorant people that know absolutely nothing about the cars/engines/chassis's/etc. that are being discussed...

Yeah nice concept but I also like the ideal they had about the 3.5 twin cam motor as well. I do not like the comment "damn the purist" I mean really with the purist the mustang would loose the fan <and buyer> base that has made it so popular. I think it may be little short sighted on any ones part to say "damn the purist!"

would be nice to buy a v6 mustang already charged. but we all know... there is no replacement for displacement.

My 2007 V6 Mustang will be paid off in 2010. If they put out a turbo'd V6 I'll gladly buy on of those over the V8. I was gonna go for a GT but I've been toying with the idea of just turboing my V6. If Ford will do it for me and give me a warranty on top of it, I'm sold.

I can see it now....a 225-250 hp turboed v6 mustang.
I know the article said up to 415...but I can see ford coming out with a 250ish hp V6 so that it doesn't out perform the V8 of the time...with maybe in the future ditching the 8 (which will effectively end my days of buying new mustangs...as if they aren't ended now) and turning it up to about 350 with room for tuners to increase it.

it all sounds good but the way i see it the 99-04 mustang gt had 260 hp. now in 2010 the v6 is gone to be up there in hp. so we waited 6+ years for the v6 to reach the level of the new edge mustang gt. im gone to see wat the 010 gt has then see wat i might buy. but even if i bou

itll only be good if it has a forged rotating assembly, that can take the abuse of double stock output. otherwise having twins is pretty useless if you cant upp the boost without snapping rods.
and i highly doubt ford is going to make it easy to bring a TTv6 up to the same power levels as its GT counterpart, and i highly doubt ford is going to spend the money to put forged internals in its base-model car. gone are the days of 10$ boost controllers. ford will do what most factory turbo cars nowadays do, boost controlled via ecu.
i would imagine there will still be base model non-turbo V6 stangs, and then a more limited TT version of them. who knows, maybe ford knows with the new standards the Mustang as we know it is doomed, so they are going all out on the last runs, making insane performers, each good in its own respects.

Gt needs V8 and 6 speed, then you can say some fuel economy, eco boost is another word for small engine compartment with more stuff in it to break.

i think the whole point of eco boost is to make the same power as a V8 but get better fuel economy. So I would assume that it would replace the V8 and then the base V6 will still be around.....It would be sad to see the V8 go, i don't think i would be another Mustang if it did. It's a cool idea for the turbo V6 but I love the sound of an 8

I don't think they will axe the V8 that would be the biggest mistake Ford ever made they are not that stupid a Stang without a V8 is like putting a V6 in a Corvette

I prefer a V8 I think there will be 2 options for the 2010 Mustang a twin turbo V6 ecoboost and a 5.0 V8 nothing sounds as sweet as a V8
