Hello all..
I'm kinda new to this, but cars and me go awhile back.My last sports car was a 98 camaro z28 with the LS1 engine 305hp and that baby was a rocket automatic though.Well thats another story.I just inherited my father car in a sad way.Its a 2004 mustang GT anniversery edition dark maroon red with gold stripes and gold polished wheels. Its a beautiful car i dont want to sell it.So i plan on buying some aftermarket parts just not sure where to start. The car has about 3 thousand miles on it he barely used it.I know from driving it last in the rain it has traction control with i would like to do away with.Could a fuse be removed to eliminate the traction control?
Thanks for the time..ps dont hate me beacuse i use to own a bowtie..lol

yea use a programmer to turn off the traction control (just wait and do it when you get a tune and dont mail order a hand held tunner from just anyone get one from a good dyno shop or get it dynoed and tuned there)
I would start off with exhaust~ determine if you just want a catback or an entire setup with/without cats etc.

Welcome to M.E. and sorry to hear about your Dad. It sounds like a nice car and trust me, I have friends with z28's and firebirds too, but welcome to the land of Mustangs!
I definitely agree with Spec and would start with exhaust when you figure out when you want, and then a tune. I think there is a way to turn off traction control although I'm not totally sure on that, Rob (PureVenom) advised me to leave mine on and I'm not tuned yet, but soon will be. I would definitely recommend finding a good performance shop with a dyno and getting it done professionally. Plus it's a great way to meet new people and find a trustworthy source for quality mods, especially when it comes to tuning.
Good luck with everything and enjoy the site!

I thinks exhaust is going to be my fist step.I like the sound of the borla's but i always thought borla's for chevy's and flow's for fords. Is there a real diffrence in performance between the two?I heard flow's on 88GT and it sounded nice more a tingy sound compared to the deep sound of borla's.I want to start with the catback then go from there. So for now i guess i hold on the traction control.I'll be posting some pics this week.
Thanks again

Borla sounds very good as a stand-alone catback on a 04 GT...just got one put on the gf's car, maybe she'll chime in here soon. It's not quite loud enough for her, but definitely better than stock. I think I see an o/r X or high flow catted X in her future.

My borla stinger cat back is quite loud for just a cat back but they also make borla cat backs that have the regular (not super small) muffler.

i got the kit painted when my car was wrecked, so they matched it up (its competition orange), the exhaust is not on yet as i do not have all of the pieces, the roush side skirts work with the stock side right now, it cost me around 400 dollars to get the kit matched and painted
the only roush kits i've seen prepainted were for the 05+ stangs and they were from roush performance
