trans shift

hi everyone about 4 or 5 months ago someone said they had auto trans that had to rev to 3000rpm before 1st gear would engage. Does anyone know if he found a solution,my 96gt does the same thing with rev. to rebuild trans estimates have been 1400-1600.thanks

Sounds like a problem with the converter...

my forward gears work perfect only reverse has the problem

have you flushed the fluid every year to year and a half as you are supposed to?
