4.0 v6 hp upgrades how do they?

Im working on a 2008 ranger with a 4.0 that has a eaton m90 supercharger
witch is getting 7# of boost the injectors are 30# with only a stock fule pump. the supercharger kit came with a sct tuner witch was way off and
I had it dyno-tuned and now im getting 226 hp at the wheels. this is a far
cry from the clamed 300 to 350 crank hp that was abertised for the kit.
the air mass is from a lightning and I want to get more power for my truck.
I have heard of 4.0 putting out over 400 hp how do they do it?
I would be happy with at least 250 to 275 at the wheels

I'm sure the ones putting out over 400 are running more then 7 pounds of boost. I think I've seen the advertisement you're talking about. Did it say 350 flywheel for the 4.0 mustang or Ranger? 226 rwhp is around 300 bhp (at the crank)
10 psi with a free flowing intake and exhaust should get you your desired goals. Also as always you'll want to have it tuned if you're turning up the boost and probably look into getting more fuel.

does your setup have an intercooler or a water to air cooler?

With a M90 you can get around maybe 240RWHP on a stock 4.0 SOHC. If you want more you'll have to start messing with pulley sizes and re-tuning. The more boost you try to get out of this blower the hotter the intake charge becomes, and the less efficient the blower is. your injectors are to small IMO get at least 36# also a 190lph pump

there is no inercooler thats one problem, I was told to change the platinum plugs
and get duel exhaust - (I have 1 borla with 2 1/2 after the cats, retune and I should get about 10 hp more. I dont know who could make a manifold where I could run a intercooler but that would be a big help also. gess it take money thats for shure. thanks for the advice will post pictures of the ranger soon.
I thought you loose 20% to the wheels is it more to get crank hp? lol

300 crank hp through an auto is about 240-250rwhp..........maybe a more aggressive tune might free up a few more ponies

on a manual ford trans its 17.5% loss and for an auto its 21-24% just depending~ thats just an estimate.
Did you have a real tune or just a can tune, that may help a ton

it was done on a real dyno, I have 5sp manual trans with 355 gears. the sct hand
tunner was way off so i had it done on a real dyno where they tuned it and down loded it into the tunner.
