When replacing under pulleys, what exactly do you lose? I understand that you gain HP by freeing the power up from the accessories, but what exaclty does that mean? how are the "accessories" affected?

The biggest problem I have ran into is that I have to be on the Highway for the ac to work very well. In traffic my AC is only slightly cool on the highway it will turn you into an ice cube. Something to think about if you don't want your girlfriend sweating...lol or should I say B*tching about it. I did get a high output alt with very small pulley to keep the charge up so that may also be a problem if you are running a system and using juice there.
Basically it takes power to make power. You are using the belt that is being turned by the crank to turn all of the other things. If you slow this down it takes less power to turn them as they dont turn as fast. Like it takes less gas to go 100mph than it does 75mph. A 25% underdrive pulley will slow them down by 25%.
The only real issues you should see is if you have a stereo system it might have issues staying charged at idle and maybe some not as cold AC if you are sitting idling.
You gain a bit of gas mileage though.
