Can anyone tell me why my mustang bogs down when I let off the gas and then bogs down and slams when I get back in the gas? It's annoying the hell out of me. I have an 87 GT 5.0
Perhaps you'll find more help in the 5.0 forum, moved your thread here-
Can you describe this any better?
When you're at a stop and hit the gas to start accelerating, does it act normally?
Does it shift normally except for when you're already moving then you let off the gas/try to get back onto it?
What speeds and in what gears does this issue occur most with?

sounds like its going lean momentarily in decel fuel tables.. many reasons why this happens, tell us more, do a KOEO and a KOER test if possible, look it up if you don't know what those are.
Thanks for the replies. It does do it when I am at a stop an hit the gas. It bogs down and sometimes stalls. It shifts normally through the gears but sometimes downshifts erratically. It occurs at just about any speed and in any gear. It is felt most at highway speeds between 45 and 75 m.p.h. It acts like its starving for fuel or air so asa precaution I changed the air and fuel filters. I thought I might have a dead spot in my TPS but did a sweep on a scope and it's ok. The problem did not come on gradually it kind of just appeared. Thanks for the help
