Hi everybody,
I’m will just joined. I have a 03 V6 with BBK cold air intake, BBK 75mm throttle body, true straight piped dual 4" cat back system. Does anybody know of any way to get some more power out of a 3.8L 232 system? I’m looking for torque more than anything. Thanks

You have 4" piping the whole way back? jesus that's gonna hurt torque... I think most diesels use ~4" from the factory

even so...
Not trying to be a douche but ...
I only have 2.25" exhaust on the 92, 2.5" on the regal... really don't need anything more than that, you've gotta be losing torque through that setup...I can't see it helping unless you're pushing massive amounts of air through the engine, via a blower, or a complete rebuild with plans to rev the engine sky high..
Your best bet for power would be a chip (that tunes shift points/pressures -assuming you have an automatic) and a set of taller gears in the rear, 3.73s, 4.10s, etc...

Thanks. Its a 5-Speed by the way. Unfortinitly the pipes and the trottle body were one of the only aftermarket things that came with the car so i would have to replace the whole setup. Maybe soon though. Do you think a turbo would make a diffrence. After i take off the trottle body? I do have the cold air intake with the 75mm tube and throttle body so its pushing a good ammount of air. Ive only been working on cars for a couple of years so dont know that much. Thanks a lot for your inputs

Everybody wants more power but most aren't ready for it. Read up on all your options before jumping to decide. What's the main function of your car?
The basic bolt-ons don't really do a whole lot in the long run. Yes it will make a difference but after spending all the cash you could save up for a supercharger.
I would do these mods if I went back to a V6.....Gears, T-lok,8.8 rear, SC, subframe connectors, lowering springs, ported upper and lower intake, and a great tune.

If you go too big, the air intake velocity drops and the cylinder fill efficiency and fuel mixing suffers. That's why low- and mid-range performance usually suffers.

From the point you are at now you might want to consider some type of forced induction or maybe nitrous! Also just loose the 75mm throttle body, really not all that great for power, though it might help with throttle repsonse a little, not really worth it!

Well hey guys hold on now. he said he wants more torque so yea, obviously change that 4" exhaust out for a 2.25"(IMHO) but I would say leave that 75mm on and get yourself a set of ported intakes upper and lower from supersix.
Believe I know that throttlebody's do shit for power but after he opens up those intakes into his heads it may work out. I mean thats only 600 or so to open up his motor all the way to the heads and with a slightly restricted exhaust(2.25 over 2.5) he should see a big spike in horsepower and a nice little boost to his torque from all the extra backpressure he'll gain.
Plus it would be a perfect setup for a turbo...Dunno just my opinion.
